When is the right time to upgrade your CNC software?
We understand this can be a challenging question to answer
so here are some things to consider as you decide when to invest in next version of your CAD/CAM
software.
Are there jobs that I need to do that my current
software can't handle?
If you find yourself turning away business or outsourcing portions of your projects because your
existing software doesn't have the capabilities you need, then you should take steps to upgrade your
Enroute. Upgrading to the next product level can increase your business opportunities, which will
more than pay for the cost of the upgrade.
What time saving features does the newest software
version offer that my current version doesn't have?
EnRoute developers are constantly looking for ways to make it easier and faster for you to do your job. Each
new release of EnRoute Software offers features designed to save you time. Fewer mouse clicks to design and
toolpath jobs means you'll spend less time in front of the computer. New technologies like Rapid Texturing can
reduce your machining times. Consider what your time is worth in comparison to the cost of the
upgrade.
Does my current version still qualify for free
updates or technical support?
Downloadable updates are made available whenever small improvements are made to the EnRoute software program. These
updates are an added value and are offered free-of-charge to users of the current version. If you are using an
older version of EnRoute, you are missing out on an opportunity to get free updates.
Technical phone support is another added value provided by EnRoute. Phone support is available for the current
version and one version level prior. Products that are more than one version behind the current release are
considered obsolete. Technical support is not available for obsolete products.
These added values should be factored in to your upgrade decision. Will my current version of EnRoute work with my new
computer?
New computers often come with new operating systems. Older versions of EnRoute may not be compatible with newest
operating systems. Upgrading your EnRoute Software will ensure compatibility and optimum performance. I purchased a used CNC machine that came with an older
version of EnRoute, what are my options for upgrading?
If you purchased a used CNC machine with a previously licensed version of EnRoute, you will need to transfer the
license registration into your name in order to receive technical support. The fee for transferring the license
registration is $500, which entitles you to 90 days of phone support. Instead of transferring the license
registration, we recommend you upgrade to the current version of EnRoute. Upgrading to the current version, will
extend your technical support from 90 days to 12 months from the upgrade date. As an added incentive, we will apply
the $500 license transfer fee toward the upgrade price.
